Research and Conference Grants
We are no longer doing the mandatory grant training; in lieu of training sessions, Ways and Means has created Tips for a Successful Application (see below).
Updated for 2011-2012; hopefully these forms are more easy to read, easy to follow instructions and otherwise turn in. Remember to hound your department to process your receipts if you are awarded a grant. Failure of your department to process our forms by the due date (on the award letter) means failure to receive funds.

The Graduate Student Senate (GSS) offers grants to assist graduate students of the University of Oklahoma in research and scholarly participation. These grants are designed to encourage graduate students to attend and/or present at professional and graduate conferences, creative exhibitions, and career fairs or to facilitate scholarly research. These awards are supplementary in nature and on a reimbursement basis.
Eligibility Requirements:
- The applicant must be enrolled in a graduate program at the University of Oklahoma during the semester in which he/she receives the Research and/or Conference Grant(s).
- The applicant must be from an Academic Unit (Department / School / College) in good standing within the Graduate Student Senate.
Departments NOT in good standing for the Spring 2012 process:
College of Architecture
Electrical and Computer Engineering
Leadership and Academic Curriculum
Landscape Architecture
Petroleum and Geological Engineering
Submit your applications to the Graduate Student Senate Office located on the first floor of the Conoco Student Leadership Wing at the Oklahoma Memorial Union, Room 187. If no one is in the office hand your form in to Debbie Strong at the front desk. Funds will be authorized by UOSA mandate during our general meeting on TBA. A list of grant recipients and amounts awarded will be posted on this website under passed legislations page.
